Welcome to the Five Nations Network

The Five Nations Network is a unique forum in England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales for sharing practice in education for citizenship and values - see Terms of Reference.

Teachers, educationalists, policy makers, curriculum planners, members of the inspectorate, representatives of NGOs and young people from across the UK and Ireland have been meeting together ever year since 2000 for an annual conference.

A Five Nations Network Strategy Group, comprising representatives from each of the five countries and supported by IGE UK, meets regularly to plan the annual conference and administer the Small-Scale Research Initiative (S-SRI).

The 2011 conference on:

Partnerships in Action in Challenging Times:

Re-imagining citizenship and values education in a changing society

was held in Dublin, Ireland, on December 1-2 and shared practice of five S-SRI inter-country collaborative projects. A further round of applications is invited by the Gordon Cook Foundation in 2011-12.  Click here for application form.

Closing Date for applications: Monday 20 February 2012
